Christine Chemnitz

Director

Christine Chemnitz previously headed the Department of International Agricultural and Food Policy at the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation for 16 years. During this time, she has advised 30 of the Foundation's international offices on agricultural and food policy issues and closely followed the international processes on climate and food policy. In 2023, Christine Chemnitz was appointed to the German Federal Government's Bioeconomy Council and to the Strategic Advisory Council of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). She studied agricultural sciences in Göttingen and Berlin and received her PhD in Agricultural Economics from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2011.
